I love beautiful, unique pieces that are functional. My parents will tell you that this love of mine began at an early age. As far back as I can remember, I have always been drawn to containers...mostly because they held what I deemed as treasures.

In light of spring around the corner, I found this wonderful beehive garden hose holder from Wisteria. It offers a whimsical alternative to your typical holder. It provides a function and adds an interesting, unexpected element to your yard. How fun!

RINGS AND PANELS

If you are in the market for window treatments, you have probably noticed all the options! While it may be a bit overwhelming, I should be able to help in the rings department.

When buying panels for window treatments, you have different options for the way you attach your panels to the curtain rod. There are ties, pockets, and clips & rings. For function, it is a good idea to buy the rings with clips. Why? Rings move more easily on a rod-- allowing you to smoothly open and close your panels. While you may plan on never opening and closing, it's always better to have the option.

THE SUZANI TREND

Not sure if you noticed..but suzanis have been everywhere. These bright and colorful patterns have gained much attention from every kind of designer out there! They can add a punch of color and/or pattern in a space. Instantly, a lifeless and boring room can have amazing character and an interesting factor!

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: BUNNY WILLIAMS

Bunny Williams is an amazing New York based interior designer and the author of three books. With a new furniture/accessories line called BeeLine Home, she offers great design and inspiration to many.

Bunny is a southern girl that grew up on a small farm in Charlottesville, Virginia. At the age of fifteen she began spending the summers in New York with her father. She has an eclectic style and enjoys integrating fabulous antique finds into her spaces. She also has an incredible eye for discovering interesting and unique pieces--new and old! I find her use of space and layering both challenging and inspiring. It's amazing how she puts everything together and somehow pulls off a comfortable and inviting room! One of my first coffee table books, Bunny Williams' Point of View, is a great read with a collection of wonderful interiors from three decades of designing. In this book, Bunny encourages readers to, "take account of your own values and realize your personal vision of how you want to live." I find it inspiring to remember that a home is not just a house. Rather, it is the backdrop of our lives. Along with designing interiors, she has a green thumb...a succesful green thumb I might add! Her books, On Garden Style and An Affair with a House, reveal her expertise in gardening.

BLOSSOMING DOGWOODS

Spring is in the air! Green grass and blossoming dogwoods begin to fill the senses in the south. Spring has always been a time I look forward to throughout the year. When I think of spring, my mind's eye goes straight to my parent's front yard--where beautiful, huge dogwood trees take bloom.

Being inspired by their fabulous dogwoods, I found chic home decor and textiles that bring this lovely tree indoors.
