Ironwork=art. It makes a statement and is eye-catching. I love how it is unexpected--being in places that usually hold wood. Whether it be the stairwell, console or door, it adds a beautiful touch and instant character!A room looks more interesting when you mix materials and textures. It's always good to push yourself and think outside of the box. Maybe choosing a decorative iron console for the entry would look more interesting than a wooden chest. Remember that a collected look is always better than a matchy-matchy look. Decorative ironwork is great because it often adds contrast to its surroundings.
This is one of my favorite entry photos. I love how the console mirrors the door and windows. The bright, yellow paint color looks amazing and helps pull off a stricking look with the ironwork.
